Kyo So Par Te (Welcome)

Burma, the Golden Land with an uncountable amount of Pagodas, is a state lying in the southeastern part of Asia between India and Thailand. But in this little paradise every day many people get shot and even children were forced to work. All, because the military government (dictature), lead under the order of General San Shwe, is craving for money and glory. The once so rich and prosper Kingdom of Burma is now the Socialist Union of Myanmar and belongs to the poorest countries on this earth.

Some information about Heiko

My name is Heiko Schäfer. I'm born at the March 28th, 1975 in Reutlingen. Since October 1996 I'm studying computer science at the University of Tübingen. My interest on Burma began when I met War War Min in the late summer of 1997 in Tübingen in a student hostel.

This was also the trigger to learn the Burmese language (but, at the moment I'm only able to read the Burmese script and to understans simple sentences). My plans for the future are to marry War War Min whith her I'm already being engaged. After finishing my studies I plan to go with my family (yes, a child is also in planning) to Japan or somewhere else in Asia (even maybe to Burma if the political situation has changed).
